We've lived in the Nashville area since 2001 -- and all 3 of our houses have been situated relatively close to the Natchez Trace Parkway. To me, the 'The Trace' is a hidden gem of Nashville -- a place to go when you want to get away from it all and be one with nature. I've hiked it, biked it, motorcycled it, walked it with my dogs, and driven my car on The Natchez Trace Parkway more times than I can count! This is where I share some of my favorite things to do along the Natchez Trace Parkway -- which runs 444 miles from Nashville Tennessee to Natchez Mississippi and through parts of Alabama. When I'm not enjoying the beautiful outdoors along the Natchez Trace Parkway, you'll find me at the corner of Good News & Fun Times as publisher of The Fun Times Guide (32 fun & helpful websites).

The Glenrock Picnic Area on the Natchez Trace Parkway will be closed to the public until October 2007. Travel along the Parkway itself should not be affected. This comfort station is located at milepost 364 in Wayne County, Tennessee.

Here's what I know about the band called Natchez Trace. The odd part -- they don't mention why they've named their band Natchez Trace. Enjoy some of their tunes...

The one and only place the speed limit changes on the Natchez Trace Parkway in Tennessee is between milemarker 428.7 and milemarker 429.5 in Leiper's Fork, TN. But wait, a point of clarification is in order...

Did you know?... When you're driving along the Natchez Trace Parkway in Tennessee, there is absolutely no passing from Milemarker 428 all the way til the end of the Parkway at Milemarker 444.

When you're on the Natchez Trace Parkway, the mile posts which appear at each and every mile of roadway play a very important role in your journey. They indicate how far you've gone, how far you have left to go, and how much longer until you would find gas, food or lodging -- if you needed it.

Who are the Slowski's? They're the older couple that I always see driving on the Natchez Trace Parkway. I liken them to Bill & Karolyn Slowsky -- those two turtles of Comcast commercial fame. Here is my tribute to the Slowski's.

Following are some of the gas stations, convenience stores and restaurants that you'll find if you exit the Natchez Trace Parkway at milemarker 429 and then turn left (west) or right (east) onto Highway 46.

For what it's worth, Milemarker 444 on the Natchez Trace Parkway doesn't exist. I'm not talking about the fact that there is no milepost to mark the location. I'm referring to the fact that there simply isn't enough roadway to accommodate 444 miles on the Natchez Trace Parkway.
