Natchez Trace... The Band
For what it's worth, there's a band called Natchez Trace.
I found that in itself kind of interesting. However, I have yet to learn why they named their band Natchez Trace. Especially since they're out of Michigan.
Here's what I know about the band...
Natchez Trace, the band, performs "acoustic classic rock".
They've been around since the '70s.
The band includes 2 original members: Ronn Burke and Steve Damstra and 1 new member: Robin Spring.
They perform a lot. But mostly only in western Michigan (Grand Rapids area).
Feel the Natchez magic of acoustic guitars, bass and big harmony as Beatles, Badfinger, Mamas and Papas, Fleetwood Mac and Crosby Stills Nash songs bring back memories of the good times you’ve had."
Check 'em out... I'd encourage you to have a listen to their music.
Steve,
Not sure how often you check this...but I was trying to find your website...has it changed? Hillary and I would like to come out and see you guys again. Can you believe it will be 20 years this year since Kevin passed away?
Hope to hear from you- hope all is well!
Always,
Jill

I run into Ronn today from Natchez Trace and I stand to be corrected. John Andrews is not the original John that was the original member. Glad we got that cleared up. Doug Taylor
I believe the name Steve is trying to remember is John Andrew's, as he was in the band in the early to mid 80's., and I have about 5 raw, uncut, unedited videos, that as we speak, I'm going to release them on DVD shortly, calling them the "Old Natchez Trace lost tapes".
Ronn and Steve were in a band called "Dirk Rivers" owned by Bob Vogel, who is now band leader for Loretta Lynn. They are all very talented musicians. They have great stage presence. Hope this post finds you, sincerely, Doug Taylor
Lynnette, My name is Doug Taylor and I know the group Natchez Trace very well. Matter of fact as I'm writing this, I'm listening to one of their uncut, unedited video tapes that I taped from many of sessions. I'm going to release them on DVD very shortly. Work in in progress as I write this. I'm calling these the "Old Natchez Trace lost tapes" This is raw, uncut, unedited footage from the mid 1980's of the 4 piece group Natchez Trace with John Andrew's in it. I believe, don't quote me, he is the original band member, Steve was refering too, in a 2007 post to you. Sincerely, Doug Taylor
Hi all,
Found this site after searching for the band. I work on the Port City Princess, and this is the second year I've seen you guys perform on the boat, and I have to say it's one of the most fun cruises of the year. It's fantastic to listen to you guys, you're GREAT. I just started playing the guitar, and you're excellent inspiration! Keep on doing your thing!
Jonathon
Hey! This is Robin of Natchez Trace...I think we need a gig on the
Natchez Trace Trail! It may inspire a song...
Happiness...
Thanks for coming to Holland...too bad the rain came. We could listen to you all night! Please come back again......we LOVE your music.
Back in the 70's the band had a member named John (can't remember his last name)who was from Mississippi. We've been through several member changes over the years; however Ronn and I have been in band since the the early 1980's. You should come up and hear us sometime and/or book us a gig down there!!
By the way we are very familiar with the beauty of the Natchez Trace parkway.......
Hi Steve (and the rest of the band),
I'm in Franklin, Tennessee - near Nashville. I live 7 miles from the entrance to the Natchez Trace Parkway. It's a beautiful place. So one of my guilty pleasures is driving on, researching, and writing about the Natchez Trace Parkway.
So tell me... how did you come to name your band Natchez Trace???
Hi Lynnette, I'm in the band Natchez Trace up here in Michigan. I found this very interesting to say the least. We found you while googling our band's name. Feel free to contact me if you would like further information about us, I'm also wondering where you are(live).
Thanks for the plug!!!!
Peace, Steve Damstre (Stevie Dee)
