The one and only place the speed limit changes on the Natchez Trace Parkway in Tennessee is between milemarker 428.7 and milemarker 429.5 in Leiper's Fork, TN.
But wait, a point of clarification is in order...
Heading north, at milemarker 429.5, the speed limit decreases from 50 mph to 40 mph.
Heading south, at milemarker 428.7, the speed limit increases form 40 mph to 50 mph.
That means, there is a portion of the Natchez Trace Parkway where the speed limit is "somewhat questionable" -- for nearly a mile.
Meaning... If you're heading north between 428.7 and 429.5, then you can go as much as 50 mph through here. However, if you're heading south between those same milemarkers, you must obey the 40 mph speed limit.
Strange but true.
Aside from this tiny stretch of roadway, the entire length of the Natchez Trace Parkway has a 50 mph speed limit.

There is another spot in which the speed limit decreases. It is at Ridgeland MS, where there is alot of commuter traffic from us locals using the scenic trace as a shotcut from one side of town to the other (Clinton to Ridgeland). The craft center is at this spot, and for a mile or so the speed limit is 40 mph; however, it is 40 on both sides, north and south, unlike the above mentioned situation in TN.
