My all-time favorite part about the Garrison Creek area on the Natchez Trace Parkway is the creekside picnic benches, horse corrals or posts, and a shallow creek that's fun for kids -- and dogs -- to play in on a hot summer day!

'Share The Road' On The Natchez Trace Parkway

It's not uncommon to find joggers, bikers, RVers, and motorcyclists happily sharing the road on the Natchez Trace Parkway. And sometimes, you'll even see a horseback rider or two! Plus, you've got your road walkers, and tourists hopping in & out of their cars in the process of snapping photographs, and even those who like to walk across the one-of-a-kind bridges found on the Natchez Trace. Natchez Trace Hike Planned For Saturday, Feb. 10

The Harpeth River Watershed Association has scheduled a 2-mile hike on the Natchez Trace Parkway near Nashville. Led by Robert Brandt, this hike is known as the Loveless To Leiper's tour. The public is welcome to attend.

Road Walking The Natchez Trace Parkway

While there are a fair amount of walking and hiking trails along the Natchez Trace Parkway -- especially near the rest stops and tourist facilities -- the fact of the matter is, you will find many people walking on the roadway itself. Why? It's a great way to get some exercise and see some of the most beautiful countryside in America!
