'Share The Road' On The Natchez Trace Parkway

Motorcycles... and bicycles... and cars... oh my!

Truth is, those are only some of the vehicles you'll find sharing the road on the Natchez Trace Parkway...

Share The Road?

Yep, on the Natchez Trace Parkway, it's a necessity!

Here's proof that "share the road" works...

On the 450 mile stretch of road that spans from Mississippi to Tennessee, this is a common sight:

See, bicyclists and motorcyclists and motorists can coexist on the same roadway. Quite happily, in fact!

Who Shares The Road Here?

In Middle Tennessee, those with a fine appreciation for the great outdoors, scenic highways, and nature's beauty strive to make their way to the Natchez Trace Parkway at some point in time.

And many drive from miles (or states!) away just to get a chance to see this beautiful stretch of road.

In fact, the maximum speed limit on the Natchez Trace Parkway is only 50 mph. So it's not uncommon to find joggers, bikers, RVers, and motorcyclists happily sharing the road. (And sometimes, you'll even see a horseback rider or two!)

Plus, you've got your road walkers, and tourists hopping in & out of their cars in the process of snapping photographs, and even those who like to walk across the one-of-a-kind bridges found on the Natchez Trace.

The best part: most people acknowledge one other with a quick wave or a nod of the head.

The Natchez Trace Parkway truly is a great place to "share the road".
